The main artery of the new part of town is the Boulevard Pasteur lined with
modern buildings and apartment houses. In the middle of these buildings one
stumbles onto a superb view overlooking the port and bay of Tangier.
People from Tangier call it " Sour Al Maagazine " or "wall of the lazy". Not to be missed is the Mandoub
palace the former residence of billionaire Malcolm Forbes now transformed into miniature military figurine,
the tobacco factory and Avenue Espagne.
Jebel Lekbir
This is the residential quarter of Tangier where one can admire the lovely homes and sumptuous palaces in
the shade of the forest.
Cervantes Theater
Inaugurated in 1913, in its heyday it was the largest theater in North Africa. Its extraordinary
architecture, 1400 seats, and machinery, one of the most up to date in its time, were designed to
accommodate the greatest of artists. For example, Lola Flores performed here.
Institute CERVANTES Library. Created on April 23, 1941, coinciding with the celebration of Book Day is the first Spanish library
inAfrica. With over 100 000 books overing all subject, and provided with audio visual and computer
equipment, the Institute provides various Spanish-language books and documents. There are also books in
Catalan, Basque and Galician.

Café Hafa
Operating since the 1920s, this café is absolutely unique because of the site. It clings to the
side of a cliff and is built over several small terraces. The Beatles,Randy Weston, Sean Connery and other
celebrities have come here to sip tasty mint tea.
